Over Cannes I



Om de Cote d’Azur heen liggen de “Alpes Maritimes” en daar kun je op dit moment heerlijk skieen in de sneeuw; Als je dat in de ochtend doet, kun je ’s middags in de zon op een terrasje aan het strand, met je voeten in het zand, lunchen - of een glaasje drinken. Kan het beter? Een van de heerlijkste steden hier om dat te doen –als je het mij vraagt- is Cannes. Het Cannes van de vergane glorie, de Casino’s, van het filmfestival,
Cannes, met een imago van luxe villa's, rijkdom en exclusiviteit, dat Cannes is ook smaakvol, warm en gezellig. En het heeft echt wel meer te bieden dan het oppervlakkige beeld dat je krijgt door het filmfestival. Ik zal in volgende delen meer vertellen over het oude gedeelte van Cannes, de markt, de winkeltjes en de restaurants!

One of the most beautiful and remarkable cities here - if you ask me - is Cannes. The Cannes of faded glory, the casino, the film festival, Cannes with the image of luxury real estate, wealth and exclusivity. But Cannes is also sophisticated, warm and sociable. And it has more to offer than the superficial picture that you get at the film festival. In later blogs I will tell more about the old parts of Cannes, the market, the shops and the restaurants!
