Maybe you do not think "Antibes" immediately if you see this... It is an aquarelle of a stained glass window (a "vitrail") in a beautiful villa that my colleague Chris Davenport of RHF-Antibes just sold. The aquarelle is for the former owners... The house itself is more than worthwhile and I'll write a post about it as soon as the other painting (for the new owners) is finished - but first a bit about this large stained glass window, that is found in the principle lounge area. It is listed within the ‘’Patrimoine de France’’, which means that it is formally a part of France’s heritage! Must be wonderful to have a work of art like that in your home... Apart from its' obvious worth, it is also a beautiful piece. I have had such fun painting it and love it even more now than when I just knew it from a picture. It is an ocean liner - or "Pâquebot", making waves in the sunshine. It used to belong to the Atrium on the 1st floor of the “Palais de la Méditerranée", where it was recovered after a fire - in 1932- that destroyed almost all of the palace. It was then transported to the Villa, with the permission of creator Marcel Dalmas, where it still is and will stay!
