Céret
Kristl Woolard of RHF Pyrénées Orientales just sold a lovely house in Céret.I love Céret, as it has a tradition of being a home for artists - many café's over there have work of Picasso and other famous artists just hanging there, on the wall! Ready to admire while you have an espresso or rosé. Give-aways I suppose, for wine and good food... Other, more official art can be seen in the Museum of Modern Art, again numerous paintings of Picasso, Chagall and Matisse, lots of Fauvists and Impressionists! There is more to enjoy in Céret, exceptionally nice is the Saturday market. Very busy, with lots of cherries and other local fruit, vegetables, cheese and wine. Many locals are actually English, Dutch and Scandinavian! They have moved to Céret lately and are loving the area...
The house Kristl sold, is located on the edge of Céret, towards the sought after 'Les Hautes de Ceret'. And of course the Marina Artists' team took care of a painting to give away - which was as always very much appreciated!
The new owners are a Belgian couple: they are going to live permanently in France - but first they'll get married. And after the festivities they plan to renovate the house and create a modern open plan living space and install solar panels and other eco-friendly mod-cons. Lucky them! We wish them all the happiness in the world - and frankly, they're in a good spot for it...
