Provence or the celebration of the senses II

Yes, at Riviera Home Finders we agree, there are many good reasons to invest in property in Provence. Five of them concern our five senses: in the Provence they will be awakened! In the last RHF blog you saw and heard, today is for tasting -and smelling Beautiful Provence.
Taste
What food is heralded as the “seafood dish” more than bouillabaisse? The controversy that reigns over what types of fish to use are forgotten as soon as your mouth is full. Your preference is for fresh produce? What would you say to truffle salad, this black fruit with its full rich taste synonyms to its smell? And have a Provence wine with it - they are not pretentious and they do not compete with those of the prestigious vineyards of France, but they marry so perfectly with the recipes of Provence.

What about the olive oil, green gold from the arid Provence, known throughout the world as one of the finest. And if you dare taste and smell ....our garlic

Provence holds onto its traditions, quality of life and relaxed atmosphere; eternal and welcoming. Provence waits for you; its cliffs lined with cypress tress peering at the heavens, where the pines obey the winds and where the sea renews itselfwithout end.

Provence or the celebration of the senses I

At Riviera Home Finders we say it too: There are at least six good reasons to invest NOW in Provence. For economic reasons : prices are still under market value. But the five other reasons concern our five senses: sight, hearing, taste, smell and touch. In Provence you can be assured that your five senses will be awakened ! In the coming days the RHF blog will let you see, hear, taste, touch and smell the Provence.

Sight

The painters of Provence, including Cézanne, Van Gogh and Picasso, would have told you of the exceptional light, created in the morning, extreme during the day, extravagant in the evening. The sun shines 330 days of the year. You want views of hills, of mountains, of lavender fields? Do you want to behold clear bays along the sea? Do you want to visit historical sites, canyons, cliffs and beaches? Seek no further - you have arrived!
Hear
The colourful sounds of Provence are easily recognizable with your eyes closed. The clinking on the playing fields of pétanque, the cicadas joyfully beating their cymbals to the feel of the sun; the "pointus" boats of the local fisherman going "teuf-teuf" and the cliff swallows whose singsong is heard from the tops of the tile roofs...

Painting in Roussillon

Elayne Murphy of RHF did it again (selling a house in Roussillon) and Marina II painted the house for the seller. Isn't it a beauty... Better than a bottle of the best champagne! And up to the next...

Exhibition in Nice

There is so much to see and to enjoy at the Côte d'Azur - I am not telling you enough right now through this blog, I know that. Reason is my upcoming exhibition - not of the houses I painted for Riviera Home Finders but of my own, home made, created-in-my-head artwork. They are also of the aquarelle type, but much bigger and abstract.

The exhibition is in Toco d'Azur in Arénice, a business centre on the Promenade des Anglais close to the Nice Airport. It starts on Friday the 18th and you are welcome to pop in and have a look!

Le Pin, Uzes

click on picture to enlargeThe first painting RHF is to give away in the new year is of a beautiful old, real stone house in the tiny village Le Pin. Le Pin is situated between Bagnols-sur-Cèze and Uzès. The little paradise has only 294 inhabitants, one café and a 19th century church that was recently restored. There are no shops, but that doesn't matter - other villages are close and most important: bread is delivered every morning to all houses - which means that you never have to miss your fresh croissant or baguette
