Antibes

Last week I met with my favourite RHF colleague Elayne - from the Luberon area -in Antibes. I hadn't been there for a while and forgot how great it was! City-like feel, combined with that authentic South of France look and smell. We were having lunch close to the sea and the marina, on a terrace in the sun, and had a terrific warm-chèvre-with-honey salad for her and a mozza for me -and a glass of rosé of course (this is France remember - it's what we do...) while we did our shop-talk... Afterwards we had some time left to go to the English bookshop in the centre (Elayne's real reason behind wanting to meet up in Antibes). Antibes is pretty English-oriented, I guess also because of all the boat people that are there - Antibes has a famous old port, the Port Vauban, which also hosts the "Voiles d'Antibes" next week. I'll come back to that one as I am part of the RHF-crew sailing on one of the beautiful classics Adria!! (here in rest - but wait until she's racing...)Anyway - Antibes is more than worth a visit, a beautiful old town with its fortifications along the coast, tiny streets with shops selling all sorts of curiosa, terraces, an Irish pub with long happy hours and a fantastic "antiques" market. And if you'd like to stay longer, or even permanently, look us up - we have great houses for sale in Antibes!

Center of Cannes: Romantic Villa

Today Brad and Angelina stood on the red carpet in Cannes, together with their buddy Clint and you could see them thinking: "if only we could go home now". And guess what: Riviera Home Finders has a great looking, romantic home for them, 2 minutes walking distance to the Film Festival! It is a really unique renovated villa in the center of Cannes - for the very affordable (for them) price of 4,300,000 € As you can see on the pictures it is built of real dry stone, it has class and style, while being comfortable and contemporary. In total it has 320 m² living space on a terrain of 750 m². There are two kitchens, three bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, a big living room with ensuite tv room with fireplace, a swimming pool with jaccuzzi and much more quality, luxury and comfort.
The beaches, shopping on la Croisette, the Marina, nightlife and Restaurants are all on walking distance, as are schools . And Nice airport is less than half an hour away... Sounds like the perfect property for stars with a life to me!

Chateauneuf de Grasse

Here's (a painting of) the house that my RHF buddies Jeroen and Catherine just sold. It is beautiful, well-kept, has a gorgeous seaview, a pool, a big garden and... it didn't cost a million! Not even close... You see, they still exist, the gems - and guess who has them: Riviera Home Finders. This specific one is close to the lovely village of Chateauneuf de Grasse, one of the official "historic sites" of the Alpes-Maritimes. It looks over the surrounding countryside, with the Bay of Cannes in the distance. Part of Chateauneuf is the "Notre Dame de Brusc", a spot where I go painting and sketching a lot. It is very special, peaceful and has a fantastic vibe. An old chapel, that used to belong to a church, built in the 5th century. It has recently (well, in 1986) been restored and classified as "Monument Historique".
Cool on the inside, beautiful on the outside, surrounded by century old olive trees. A great place to live - and I know what I'm talking about as it happens to be where my home is too...

Aubagne

Aubagne is a charming village in the department Bouches-du-Rhône, the birthplace of famous french writer Marcel Pagnol. Marcel Pagnol created a beautiful and romantic picture of the Provence through his wonderful characters and endearing observations. He is the pride of the village, and there are many exhibitions and "culture walks" dedicated to him. The center of Aubagne has been renovated and the old quarters are carefully restored. Aubagne has been the center for pottery since ancient times and is the best producer of the famous "Santon figurines". Economically dynamic as it is, Aubagne has still managed to keep its authenticity as a true Provençal community
And you know what? RHF has an exceptional, completely renovated 17th century bastide for sale in Aubagne! It has over 1.3 hectares of landscaped gardens, olive and fruit trees, and is surrounded by non constructible lands. In total there is a whopping 710 m² living space, two fully equipped kitchens, a large bureau, two living rooms, a dining room, a study/library and eight bedrooms with their en-suite bathrooms, done up in Italian style, large, open and filled with light.
The bastide even has its own chapel, adorned with original art and stained glass windows.
There is plenty of terrace space for enjoying the sun-filled days, a terrain de boules and an infinity pool with salt mechanics, it is ready - for quiet, easy living.
And then last but not least, the TGV station in Marseille is less than half an hour away. And a 40 minute drive, without a single traffic light, brings you to Marseille airport... In short, sounds like a house Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie would love to live in! The price: € 2,650,000 More information on the RHF website or contact RHF's Maya O'Riordan
